McCain UP, Romney Down

After Saturday’s primaries, its is clear. McCain is the Man. I participated in the Nevada caucus, I will be going to the county convention as a delegate, and it was clear that Most of Romney’s support comes from his church. I did not meet many caucus voters that were NOT LDS, that strongly supported Romney , and the LDS voters were 60-75% of the GOP turnout , by my calculations. I have nothing against the LDS church, many of my friends are members, I admire many of them. My point is that if Romney is going to WIN , not only the nomination , but the whole keg of beer, he is going to HAVE to get votes from all over.

So far, he has only done well, in states that his dad was Governor of, or border Utah. That’s not a wide appeal. he could change that, he may win some other states, but I will bet , that in a month, MCain is leading in delegates, states, and appeal to most GOP voters.

You cant win the Presidency, or even the GOP Nomination, if you don’t win votes in the south. John McCain proved that he can, and that’s all it will take to make other southern voters support him. He is the only one who can ACTUALLY WIN against Clinton or Obama. And that is the most important thing, winning & keeping the White House. Voting in principle or 1-2 issues, will not win the white house, The GOP needs to support the candidate that can WIN.

McCain is the Man.

Why Do We Have to Have Primaries?

First of all, if you are going to have a GOP or Democrat Primary, then you should have to be a member of that party to vote in it. It only makes sense. Let the Independents vote in the general, but lets not let them pick some other party’s nominee.

Second, why can’t the state parties pick their delegates and send send them to a convention in MARCH not late summer. Then the delegates can caucus and vote it out like they used to. let the parties put forth WHO THEY want, and then let the public decide.  Let the parties decide who best represents what they want, who they think has the best chance to win, isnt that what parties were for in the first place?

If they want to test the waters with candidates, then have a big primary after Iowa, NH, and SC, and force the all but the top 2 to drop out. Face it , after the top 2 , the others are just getting in the way. Make deals like they used to to get guys and gals out of the way of ones who have a real chance.  Thats what Politics is -making deals. Instead , now everyone thinks he has a shot. The reason you have guys waiting around till Feb 5, is they think they have a chance. 

COME ON ! If you can’t win Votes in the Northeast, Midwest or the South, you really don’t have a shot do you? 

It is clear that the GOP is fractured into several factions all with their own narrow interests. But if you want a guy who can win It’s John McCain. If you want a guy who matches your interest, there are 5 other guys, only one can beat Clinton or Obama. That’s John McCain, he is the voice of reason, character, and integrity, he has paid his dues , waited his turn, and his time has come. No one else has the experience, knows how to work with congress, terrorism, and the world, than John McCain. His wife is a postcard first lady, ( Rudy’s 3rd wife- no, Huckabee’s wife- no, ) and image means allot. You may not agree with everything he stands for , but at least he is consistent, and he is the most acceptable to the most people. He will keep the Supreme Court conservative. Its time we get this field whittled down, so we can have a clear choice, among guys who can ACTUALLY win.

UDUB will never beat UCLA now

Well, we all knew this day would come. The UW will “rue the day” they let Rick Neuheisel go for betting in a neighborhood sports pool. The courts already agreed and made the UW write him a check. Now he will pay them back for the 5-10 years, while he coaches UCLA. you can bet EVERY game UCLA plays against the huskies in football, rick will do his very best to bury them, and unless Tyrone performs a miracle, the UW will be out recruited by Rick, and Charisma’ed, and outplayed every year beginning with 2008. I predict the Huskies will lose the 2008 game by 14 points at least. Tyrone’s last year ( 200 will be the first of many losses until the UW hires an even better coach, than Rick was while he was at UW.

UCLA will get to the Rose Bowl before the UW. That’s my prediction. he should have never been let go, the Huskies would never be in the position they are in now.

UPDATE; Let me just clarify thati use the term “courts” to include all legal proceedings that ended in the UW to paying Rick $4.5 million. It’s called “poetic License”

Keep it up McCain, Rudy is done.

Giuliani has many problems, I like HIM, but I think the democrat party will love him as the Nominee. Rudy has a wife that will be trouble. She is a meddler like Mrs. Clinton, she thinks the first lady should be a cabinet position. When you are old, bald,  and on your third marriage, you take whomever is attractive, younger and pays attention to you, no matter what her motivations are. Rudy has a lot of baggage, ( wives, political relationships) There is much that we don’t know, that will likely come out NEXT summer if Rudy is the nominee. but that’s understandable, when you are used to running a city like New York, you have to broker a lot of deals, and grease allot palms to get things done.

I just don’t like the idea of Judy and Rudy in the White House, I think there could be trouble, and I don’t know who else is OWED favors by Rudy.

 What can they say bad about John MCain? Really? He is a very likable guy. McCain has no real personal negatives and is not a weasel. He gets along with most in congress, he knows the beltway, he knows foreign affairs. He is a soldier, has a son in the war,  and is a likable old politician. He has a nice wife, who, like Laura Bush, doesn’t want her voice heard too much.

 Mitt is blowing his own lead. Lately Romney is starting to sound like Al Gore with his inventions of memories. I Like Romney, but I wish he would shut up sometimes. Let Huckabee win Iowa, SO WHAT? The Guy has no legs to go any further, whoever wins New Hampshire, Michigan and SC, will dominate the GOP race. Iowa is only important to the democrat race.

Message to Iowa, NH: McCain !

I know those in Iowa and New Hampshire, are having a hard time recently, so I send you a message. It’s Time for John McCain. for months all we have heard, is garbage about Giuliani, Romney, and others, while McCain is not only the most honest and qualified, but he is the most electable. We know we get with John McCain and he can be perfect for this election. Unlike Huckabee, He can beat Clinton, Obama or Edwards. ( huckabee can NOT win the whole thing, come on! ) Unlike Rudy, He doesn’t have a “Judy” who will get in the way. Unlike Romney he doesn’t have a religion problem, that bothers some people( not ME!)

John McCain is real authentic candidate, you may not like everything, but we can’t be picky. And if you are looking for a democrat candidate, well, ask yourself if you REALLY think Clinton can win, REALLY? Is she the type of PERSON you want? If you really want to change things, vote for Obama. Clinton will be the worst candidate, and give us the worst mudslinging , antagonism, and politics as usual.

Personally I am throwing my support for these candidates in this order:

1. John McCain

2. Romney

3. Obama

BTW: If Obama wins the nomination, I would encourage him to select Joe Biden for VP, he will need guy who knows his way around washington, like when Bush took Cheney.

Its YULE time December 21

Get that Log out and start burning, Today is the Winter Solstice, and the beginning of Yule. The Holiday goes back hundreds of years before Jesus was born, and later the holiday was drowned out by christian holidays. But rather than dump the old traditions , they just blended them in.

 Why do the non believers want to use “Happy Holidays” when the word literally is “HOLY-DAY”? it makes no sense. Anyway, have a Merry Christmas ! Happy HOLY-Day, and Cool Yule!

Who gets A Christmas BONUS ? No one I know.

 

I have worked for over 10 corporations, some big media groups included, and NEVER - EVER have  I ever or any of our employees, ever got a Christmas Bonus. Did they REALLY used to gove these out? Really?

I don’t know anyone who did, my father included. When did this EVER happen? And why did companies get so cheap ? If anyone has or STILL does get a Christmas bonus, Or GIVES real a bonus to their employees,  please tell me about it , because I think it only exists in the movies.

Commitment Died Years ago

Yesterday Bobby Petrino quit the Falcons to take the job at Arkansas. Everybody was whining  all day about how he didn’t stay in his less-than-one-year-old contract to stay in Atlanta. Why would anyone be surprised?

Commitment in America, started to die about 30 years ago, and has been getting worse ever since. It’s a rare citizen who keeps their commitments. If you don’t like your employee, fire them, if you don’t like your job, quit, if you don’t like your wife, get divorced, if you don’t want your child, abort or abandon it. Contracts mean nothing, vows before friends, family , your god, or ther media mean NOTHING.  No one has any integrity, and they rarely mean what they say. The USA has become a disposable society, where nothing is ever forever, or even semi-forever.

It’s sad, The USA used to be a society that scorned divorce, abortion, and honored its contracts. Loyalty meant something to a company and employee. Not anymore. The divorce and abortion laws helped speed things up, and it spilled over to everything else. People used to make a marriage vow, and KEEP IT, and the law was not easy on those who wanted out. Even the Catholic church has weakened, how does a Catholic like Rudy Giuliani get out of TWO marriages ? 

It ought to be tougher to get out of a contract or a marriage, and ther need to be STIFF penalties, or this will get worse. People need to start being loyal , and stick with their commitments again. Thats why no one trusts anyone, and that’s why it never surprises me when people break a promise, because it’s too easy and society lets them

Leeann Tweeden Invents Memories

 So , last week Evel Kneivel assumes room temperature, and there was a special on the BIO channel, I could not pass up. There was several celebrities recounting events, including Leeann Tweeden. Reflecting on the 1968 crash at Caesars palace , she said “ I remember watching, being in horror, … Is he dead?”

Well, Leeann was born in 1973. I find it hard to believe she ever saw this live, and when she did, she would have been like 10 , and already knew he didn’t die. How does a producer for this show NOT mention this to her?

U-Dub is Stuck with Tyrone

  

What a gutless move. The admin’s at the UW have just proven they are not and never will be a BIG TIME football program again. They could have sent a message as UCLA did, that they are serious about winning football games, not humanitarian awards. I haven’t sent money to the UW Alumni since they wrongly fired Rick Neuheisel, and he was proved right in court. Looks like I will be keeping my money for awhile longer, till Jim Mora is there, or UW wins  a Rose Bowl.

It’s not about whether  Tyrone will win more games in 2008, he will, he better, and quick. It was about rewarding crappy coaching in 2007! It was about the fact that every team they played knew how to figure out what was happening in the first half , and knowing nothing would change in the second half. So the Huskies got out coached every game.So we get to see boring old Tyrone, again, no excitement, no youth, just more of the same.

He might get three more wins next year, than 2007, But if he doesn’t start 3-0, then the season will be lost. The drama will just be played out all over again, while Oregon & USC get better. And worse what do fans and alums have to look forward to in the off season – Nothing, no excitement, no hope. Good Luck getting donations for stadium improvements, when you just showed that you have to resolve or no ambition to get the team better. YOU –Tha Admins are happy with 11-25. Well , you get what you deserve.
